Great dentist! Dr. Tran is friendly, thorough, honest, and experienced. I also appreciate that she is cost conscious towards you as the customer (without sacrificing quality of care). My former dentist would always find ways to charge $200-300 per visit (and I had insurance), doing special x-rays, photos, whatever else they could think of, none of which seemed necessary. Dr. Tran does perform unnecessary procedures to drive up cost, no nickel and diming. Her, and her assistant, always did a great job and were welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend. This practice is a breath of fresh air to many of the corporate feeling dental offices I have been to in the past which seem to only be motivated by profit and not patient-centered care.

Went to Dr. Tran because all I could afford at the time was an HMO plan, and she was one of a very few dentists in the area that accepted the plan. The cleaning was meticulous, which was appreciated, and Dr. Tran's assistant was very kind. The office is small, outdated, and seems archaic. However, if you get good dental care, who cares about what the place looks like.

HOWEVER, Dr. Tran took X-rays and informed me that I had MANY small cavities that needed filling in addition to "major decay" under an old filling on the lower right. I wasn't convinced, as I had seen a dentist within the last 6 months that made no mention of any of this. I told her I would seek a second opinion.

Fast forward to today, I went to Tioga Dental where I was previously a patient. They did 18 x-rays and a formal dentist eval, and NO cavities were noted that needed filling. There was no decay noted on the lower right. And the 2 small E1 lesions that they noted were recommended just to follow. Dr. Tran is over diagnosing, over treating, and cheating the system to make up for the revenue discrepancy in the HMO reimbursement model. Awful experience. Do not recommend. Do not pass go. Do not collect 200 dollars from me.

On my first and only visit, got X-rays and cleaning. Was told I had many cavities that were very surfaced, could have been there for years, wouldn’t require any numbing to address, but would need to be tackled in multiple visits (3-4), each costing ~$40. X-rays were few and weren’t shown to me. Have never had a cavity before. Ended up getting a second opinion where 18 X-ray images were taken. Sure enough, zero cavities present. New dentist was not aware I had been told there were cavities. The second opinion cost the same w/o insurance than I would have had to pay for the unnecessary dental work, which would have just damaged my (healthy!) teeth. Note: Dr. Tran and office staff/hygienist were very nice, quick, scheduled with ease.

When you move to a new city, finding a good dentist can be hard. I had some awful experiences before I found Dr. Tran. Her and her staff are experts at welcoming and treating patients professionally and with care. Would definitely recommend!

I assigned Dr. Tran as my primary dentist under my insurance, and visited her office for the very first time, and did not feel welcomed at all!!!! She actually refused to even provide me with any services!. She would not even see me!. I asked for a full exam as a first time patient and she actually told me to contact my insurance and request a different dentist for my services. I believe she was perhaps racist!! I will be sure to contact my insurance and file a complaint against her office!!
